Glass is a rigid, non-crystalline material, with a translucent and transparent appearance.
It is a synthesis product made by heating a mix of silica, sodium and potassium oxides – combined with the silica during vitrification – and calcium or magnesium oxides that stabilize the vitreous state.
Its main components, mixed and dosed appropriately, are heated at high temperatures to become a homogenous, fluid, incandescent mass that can be modelled with special instruments.
